About Thinklesticks

The first Thinklestick was drawn in the summer of 2014 on a sunny day in Reading, Berkshire, UK.

I had just finished writing my first novel "Benchmark" and in an attempt to summarise the book's message, I drew a little doodle.

In one picture I had managed to summarise 55,000 words. It made me think that a picture really can say a thousand words.

I had visualised my mind as a garden since 2007 when I first realised I was an entangled mess of overgrown problems which were wrapping me up in thorny knots. After a period of counselling I delved into the world of Personal Development and wondered why I had never been taught the powerful and useful concept of managing my mind.

It has become a passion of mine. I enjoy pottering, expanding and experimenting with ideas. My doodling also evolved. The two hobbies combined to create Thinklesticks: The Mind Garden.

In 2016 I decided to test my concepts and drawings out on family and friends to see if they could be useful to other people. It quickly expanded to friends of friends and then complete strangers as people heard of the Research Project. I have walked through over 70 Mind Gardens so far...and counting.

My work is ever evolving. I am always learning. But inspiring minds to thrive is one of my favourite things.
